The day started out perfect for Adamec’s 4th Annual Motorcycles & Miracles ride to Benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
With the Grand Marshall and Professional golfer, Davis Love III to lead the riders on the run.
We have been anticipating the long wait to see Davis’s new chopper that OCC ( Orange county Choppers ) had made for him for his 40th Birthday. This was His wonderful wife’s present to him. How about that for a present. Pay attention girls all of us would like one also.
Weather was clear and no rain plagued us for the ride. But the temp gauge on my scoot said 110 degrees air intake. My bike performed flawlessly as did the wife ( Linda Jo ) who keeps me inline most of the time. Needless to say it was a very hot run. Davis rode down from Sea Island Georgia and arrived at the staging area in the parking lot at Venus U.S.A. off Beach Blvd. The News Camera’s begin to film immediately so getting close to take these pictures had to wait for a little while.
This is another great ride for the Children’s Miracle Network which is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and welfare of all the children by raising funds and awareness for the pediatric programs at Shands Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital. The founding principle of Children’s Miracle Network is that all funds raised stay locally to improve the health care for children in the community.
As I said the day started out perfect, but as the fickle finger of fait showed up to rear its ugly face once again. A short time before we arrived at the end of the ride at Cheers Sports Bar and Grill the Police started to slow us down. I could see up ahead on the right that something had happened. Thank God it was not an accident, as we got closer it was very clear what had happened. There on the side of the road was Davis and his new ride. It had stalled or broke or something. As of this writing I still don’t know what happen to his new bike. But it is not uncommon for a new ride to have some bugs to work out of it. Hope all is well with his new scoot.
